Once almost untouchable for fear of backlash and dubbed by a few as the most powerful man in Washington, it seems many are now turning against Norquist in order to make progress on reaching a deal.
Norquist response has been interesting. It's ranged the gambit from denial about his fading influence to accusations about CEOs working with Obama.

Norquist told the Washington Post the CEOs were “acting like a group of trained seals” for Obama, posing for a “photo op” to give the president cover.

And Saxby Chambliss just outright said Grover does not have a plan.
