Really? Did I just read this statement on the vine...

This is just another hit piece thats aimed at Sarah who is pure as the driven snow. She is Christ like. What the lame stream media is doing to Sarah is just like what the Nazis did to the Jews. Congresswoman Giffords needs to apologize to Sarah for her role in this.

Edit: Read my edit at the bottom first please. My bad...I guess. I might delete the article, you guys let me know.

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Poe's_Law

I can't say I'm for one "side" or another in strict terms. I think a certain way and that's my way.

But what the hell is that? And I'd like someone from the other side of the political spectrum to justify what this person said. I really would.

You know, when Bush (who I despise with the fire of a thousand suns) was Potus...if he had been shot. I would have said what I will always say when someone suffers. I would feel empathy and stand behind them. Frack, if some idiot shot Sarah Palin, I'd have empathy for her and wish her better. I wouldn't ask for some apology.

Geez. This is just the height of revolting dialogue on the vine. People need to take a serious look at themselves.

Peace.

Edit: I guess I could be wrong...apparently, this was an attempt at humor, or at least some on the article in which it was said are saying that. It wasn't clear to me, I apologize for that.

I usually say something like "Yeah...we're all going to drink acid and die..." and try to make my sarcastic statements as obvious as possible. I even leave the /sarc tag on them for insurance.

its obvious who said that was left wing and is making fun of those who support Palin.

I personally would like a link to that statement so I can look at the posting .

if you fail to provide it just means this is a pure lie and propoganda piece and about as valid as that statement.

    nicey thank you much.

    that person also posted this

I want to see a real interview of Cheney where he is asked how much he profited from the deaths of 4,000 American soldiers and the deaths of over 100,000 Iraqis and Afghanis.

he doesnt sound like a hardcore rightwinger does he???

but thanks for the article.....a fail on your part...it was obvious that he by making that statement was making fun of those who support palin. before jumping to conclusions about a statement do some research.

the poster is not a brainless Palin supporter...maybe a troll...but not a supporter of palin.

why did you delete the link??? because it proves this whole article is wrong??

Is this seed satire or what? The guy was being sarcastic and yet it's posted as a seed topic as supposed evidence of another crazy right-winger? I guess it's ok to make things up to suit your purposes and unfortunately, many will read this and believe it to be true.

Wow. Now we are manufacturing hate! I think the link to this comment needs to be reposted.

but I guess that doesnt really excite you now does it?

    Sigh...

James...do you want to make me go over your history of posting?

For one thing (since you research all of us) you'd know I'm not excited by the prospect of a divided country at all. Regardless of which side it is.

What drives me is being an empathetic person. It is who I am and always will be. The height of the ridiculousness of the last few weeks were statements like say this one...

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jon-stewart-mocks-sarah-palins-double-standard-over-inflamed-political-rhetoric/

Palin frames the argument correctly...(that we shouldn't be thinking about blaming political sides in this shooting and that we need to be considerate of what we say)

Then *she proceeds to say the shooter was likely a leftist criminal*

My extreme dislike of that side of the aisle comes from the very blatant and huge lies. For example...

Leftist people say they are for social spending...then they proceed to spend on social welfare. Rightist people say they are for being fiscally conservative...yet there's 30 years of evidence that they spend, spend, spend...*it's just on the s&^% they want to spend on*

Sure, both parties are inadequate (which is why I trust neither one) but one is woefully hypocritical because they violate the very foundation that they claim.

Dems might be the same liars, crooks, badmouth as Pubs, but they spend money on Social Welfare which is their foundation.

Well, James, you'd have to do a piece on how the right wing pretends to be left wingers, too. There's a "new girl" (won't give her name, but you can figure if you think hard enough) who goes around doing the same exact thing.

Rather than going off half-cocked, acknowledge the person as a troll and let it go.

there are left wingers who support the Arizona law. People who live in Arizona and are dealing with the fallout from the people coming though , may be left wing on everything else, but want some safety and security in their homes and feel they are not getting it. So the immigration stance, may be in line with the Urban League, which also holds the same stance, or the late Barbara jordan, of Texas, who held a similar stance, Neither of which could be called right wing. Immigration is not just a left/right issue. Both sides have reasons to support both sides of the issue. So it isn't really a Litmus test.

        I agree Nicey..

Some Viners are really crossing the decorum line, using their 1st amendment right as an excuse to voice their comments. This one is right up there as one of the most whacked out, hate-filled, fictional rants I've seen in a while. Could this person really think this or do you think they are "chumming the waters" for the thrill of getting something started?

I agree the media is really stalking her every move while ignoring more important gaffes and ethics issues. Like Palin or not, she is human like you and I. She is no more pure as the driven snow then Obama is. If this is what some people call "Christ-like" it's no wonder our country is in such a turmoil. There comes a time I think people need to sit back and reexamine their core values.

"Congresswoman Giffords needs to apologize to Sarah for her role in this." (from the block quote referenced)

Congresswoman Giffords is absolutely a victim here. She need not apologize to anyone. Myself and many others saw and see these things coming. We fear it that this could be but a beginning to many more things even more horrible to come in the upcoming years. Those advocating domestic terrorism are doing just that... ...advocating terrorism. Period.

Not exactly. Palin, herself, claims the "lame stream media" is doing to her what was done to Jews for centuries--"blood libel". It's even worse than the Nazis. s/

I am a libertarian and do not like Palin one bit as evidenced by my other posts here....but it was soooooooo easy for me to see this was just sarcasm. Now you being left wing have fallen into this false illusion of good vs evil...dem vs repub and are so caught up in your rhetoric that you were unable to see it.

It happens on both sides and that is what they want. they divide us so that we cannot see what is truly going on.

May I suggest coming over to the libertarian side where you actually can see what is going on...as you are not one side...you are able to see and make decisions without bias in regards to our politics in this country

I just happen to think the hypocrisy on the right is of greater volume and degree than the left. I was actually caught up in the discussion more than anything. Which is bordered by other posters defending Palin.

As I pointed out. Simple measurement.

              1) The basic tennant of the modern GOP is fiscal conservation.

              2) The basic tennant of the modern DNC is social welfare.

Dems spend on social programs. Pubs don't honor fiscal conservation at all.

May I suggest coming over to the libertarian side where you actually can see what is going on...

The association that Libertarians have is often wrong.

Such as, the belief that somehow the Founding Fathers were like them...

*No, they weren't.* The founding fathers were elitist academics.

The second is, everytime I talk to a libertarian they talk about taxes.

Hello? The wealthy paid *all the taxes* till 1913 basically.

Those are my two biggest disagreements with libertarians. I happen to believe in social equality, as such, some of the ideas of socialism are appealing in theory to me.

as you are not one side...you are able to see and make decisions without bias in regards to our politics in this country

              peace.

It's still a side. Everyone has one. Usually our own.

The only way we don't have sides is if we are all working for the same thing.

Sorry. but sometimes it's not that easy to tell if an article was written in sarcasm. Some have a serious case of Palin Derangement Syndrome, for example:

              Sarah Palin, Combat Veteran

              I will say this

you are correct on your assessment of the two parties.....Its amazing to me that republicans cannot see how the party is basically just an extension of the democrat agenda and that is to make the government bigger and to take away the rights of the citizens.

so with that you are correct..

              I will say this

              That's fair enough.

I know sometimes when I'm responding I take a condescending tone when I know something to be wrong. And I often re-read what I say and take out words that are insulting before I post.

How about we just focus on civility in discussions. We have ideas and we can discuss the benefits and drawbacks of those ideas without pointing out someone being a Nazi, Stalinist, Racist, etc.

government bigger and to take away the rights of the citizens.

And yes, I'd also agree that as a party, when there is talk about SS, Medicare, Medicade and so on, the unfortunate aggregate result is people expanding control by using these things.

In and of itself, social programs have benefits. Can be beneficial to a society. Just like in and of itself, capitalism, can be beneficial. But then there's the ability to use these concepts and exert controls over others.

Obviously, I like some ideas of socials (we should be rewarded equally for equal efforts)...then you have the people who use socialism...Mao, Stalin, and what they did was not socialism at all. But a twisted violation of the idea.

Nicey, just to let you know that I went and reviewed the origination of the comment. I can see how you came to your original conclusion when you first posted. The commenter, is in fact a Medical Doctor. He was by no means asking for a pity party on behalf of Palin. He made what is called in some circles 'a snide remark'. Go to his column and you will see other 'snide remarks'. Additionally you will see where he was criticle of Palin's supporters. Again, with 'snide remarks' like 'do really expect me to believe this' when you say that? Compliments on how you handled this. Well done. Lessons were learned here, weren't they? I've just added you to my 'friends'

              Take that back.

I promise this is the last time I am writing a post regarding Palin! She has had more then her fifteen minutes of fame. I think it's my turn. I am 65, widowed, young looking and just got to retire.

I plan on never running for office and I am vascillating between becoming an Independent voter.

              I am a nurse, without a purse!
